A cognitive assessment may be helpful in investigating cognitive abilities that affect learning (e.g. working memory, processing speed, verbal comprehension skills). The results are helpful in identifying any cognitive strengths and weaknesses and can assist educators and parents in tailoring support and intervention to the individual's needs. This assessment is available for children 6-16 years and adults 16+ years old.
An academic assessment is helpful in understanding your child's academic achievement in relation to other children the same age. The results can be helpful in understanding if individualised support plans are helping and if targeted intervention in a specific area is needed.
This behaviour assessment is used to assess daily living skills. It can be used to identify strengths and weaknesses, to develop treatment plans, for goal setting, and to monitor progress over time. It is helpful in classifying varying developmental, learning and behavioural conditions.
Mental health screeners and assessments are used to identify any mental health challenges young people and adults may be experiencing, and how this impacts on them. These assessments are useful to assist in tailoring support to your individual needs. They can assist in the areas of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
A cognitive assessment, academic assessment and full clinical interview are used to determine whether learning challenges meet the threshold for a Specific Learning Disorder (dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia) or an Intellectual Disability (ID).

You may choose to pay the full fee, without accessing any available rebates. If you do not wish to use a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or if you do not meet the criteria for a MHCP as assessed by your GP, the full fee is $200 for a 50 minute session.
You can access a MHCP from your GP who will determine if you meet the criteria to access a rebate from Medicare. You will receive a rebate of $96.65 using a MHCP. You will be required to pay the full fee at the time of your consultation then the rebate will be returned to you by Medicare. You will receive 6 sessions on the first referral, then you will be required to go back to your GP for a re-referral to access another 4 sessions.
Most health funds will be able to provide a rebate for psychological services. We are able to provide you with an appropriate invoice to claim part of the fee through your health fund. Please check with your health fund prior to attending to clarify what services are eligible for a rebate with your particular fund.
To use your NDIS funding to access our psychological services you will need to be self-managed or plan-managed.
